Driftwood with Edison
The Downtown Artery brings us a pair of acts not to be missed this summer. Driftwood is a band native to Binghamton, New York, with members from the working town playing music with no limit to genre. Whether it be folk, old-time, punk, or rock, the band plays what they feel, and ultimately their listeners feel it too. “It’s sometimes tough to keep any sort of focus on style or sound when you have three different songwriters,” says guitarist Dan Forsyth. “But it also allows us to branch out and explore in ways other bands don’t.” Take this soulful group and pair them with one of Colorado’s favorites—Edison, and you have an intensely raw night of music. Edison, the trio who has gained immense traction since their beginnings in 2014, play a modern take on folk with lyrics that people from all walks of life can relate to. Driftwood and Edison will be playing at Downtown Artery July 1. The show begins at 7 p.m., and tickets are $10.
