Summer is a time for outdoor concerts. Enjoying sunny days and cool Colorado nights while listening to groovy tunes—isn’t that what summers were invented for? This is why we love the Thursday Night Live Concert Series brought to us by Bohemian Nights. On July 27, you can catch The Burroughs on the Old Town Square stage. The Burroughs began playing together in 2013, and their trademarked “sweaty soul music” comes together with a four-piece horn section. The Burroughs include Sean Hagemeister on guitar, Tom Amend on keyboard and organ, Brian Claxton on bass, Mary Claxton on drums, Alec Bell on trumpet, Briana Harris and Hayden Farr on saxophones, Jeremy Fallis on trombone, and Johnny Burroughs on lead vocals. Their big band stage presence is brought to life by the incredible dancing, singing, and all around amazing performance of lead singer Johnny, who embodies some late Michael Jackson moves and makes them his own. The band has performed their soulful upbeat music at festivals like FoCoMX, New West Fest, Tour de Fat, and alongside national acts like Steve Miller Band. Don’t miss their free show, 7 p.m.
