Temple’s Grand Ale
A special beer was created for Temple Grandin’s 70th birthday celebration at CSU. She requested a beer that reminded her of a caramel ice cream cone, thus a light vanilla, caramel craft cream ale was brewed. Temple made a visit to the brewery to see her beer in progress and give the fermenter a hug. Owner Carol Cochran added some caramel extract to a sample for Temple to taste, and then added vanilla. Since she liked both flavors, they both went in her birthday batch!
Harry Hughes’s Aggie Ale
Named after 31 year Rams coach Harry Hughes, this jasmine and green tea infused pale ale returns. Originally released last fall to celebrate the final season at Hughes Stadium, it’s one of their most requested beers, so it’s back! This sessionable beer was brewed in conjunction with students from CSU’s Fermentation Science & Technology Program and is perfect for fall tailgating.
Purpose Brewing & Cellars
The newest brewery in Fort Collins (formerly 1933), surprised us and opened under the radar. Former 1933 brewer Zach Wilson and marketing wife Laura Wilson teamed up with New Belgium’s long time Belgian Brewmaster Peter Bouckaert and his wife Frezi for this new venture. They now operate every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12-7 p.m. with their grand opening party set for September 23 in their taproom and parking lot. Keep an eye on Facebook for food and music details, as well as upcoming special releases.

Farmer’s Daughter Oktoberfest Lager
This annual fall seasonal will release in time for Loveland Oktoberfest at the brewery September 15 and 16. This traditional Märzen lager incorporates various European specialty malts, resulting in an elegant, rich and complex malt-forward beer with notes of toasted bread, caramel, brown sugar, and chocolate.
Zwei Brewing Co.
Zwei Märzen is a toasty copper-hued fest lager brewed in celebration of Oktoberfest. Set for release on September 16 for their all day Zweitoberfest celebration; expect plenty of beer, bands and food. Prost!
Intersect is continuing their 1st Anniversary celebration by releasing their first bottles of Peach Gose and Pink Guava Gose to liquor stores. Cheers!
Soul Squared Brewing
Farm-based Soul Squared collaborated with like-minded Boulder-based tea company Celestial Seasonings and brewed limited-release Celestial Saison for their September CSA beer (then distributed it throughout Northern Colorado and Boulder). Celestial Seasonings’ dry chamomile leaves were added and chamomile tea was infused into the beer, resulting in a nice, crisp and dry Belgian-style chamomile saison.
Old Colorado Brewing Co.
OCBC is releasing two new brews this month, Trios Belgian Pale Ale, a lightly spiced Belgian style pale ale and Just Beecuz Hefeweizen, a refreshingly light Weissbier with orange blossom and clover honey.

Oktoberfest (title TBD)
Head brewer Charlie Hoxmeier’s inspiration for this rich and toasty fall favorite was his reflection on life in Europe with his family as a teenager. These days, Oktoberfest tends to be a drunk fest where all the “Munichers” show up to consume as much beer as possible, but for GG, it’s so much more; the change of the seasons, German brewing, and sitting at long tables with your closest friends eating schnitzels.
