It’s that time of year again for the Larimer Animal-People Partnership (LAPP) sponsored, 22nd Annual Doggie Olympics! Catch the high-flying, frisbee catching, longest down-stay holding, fastest fetching, and trickiest dogs in town on Sunday, September 24 at City Park in Fort Collins, starting at 9 a.m. LAPP is an organization that provides therapy animals in several settings such as nursing homes, safe houses, schools and assisted living homes. The Doggie Olympics is a family friendly event for all dogs, in which pre-registered dogs can compete in 14 different events to win medals and prizes, or participate in individual events with Paws-at-Play tickets. If your dog is friendly and fired up for fun, get them registered before it closes on Monday, September 18. It’s a great spectator sport as well, with many dog-oriented vendors, food trucks, and sweet pups that are up for adoption. LAPP is all about positive interactions with family dogs and would love if you considered getting involved with pet therapy.
