Ally Westover took her exquisite eye for fashion to her favorite thrift store, Flamingo Boutique, to construct four sustainable and affordable outfits. Sustainable fashion is a growing passion for Westover. The apparel and merchandising major at Colorado State University has even started her own blog on the topic. Here are the photos from Westover’s trip to Flamingo Boutique (captions and quotes from Westover will be revealed when clicking on the photos).
Westover walking into the small, but a gem of a thrift store, Flamingo Boutique “It’s good for the environment to recycle. I’m just wearing people’s (old) clothes even though they have already taken their toll on the environment. There is no need to just throw them away.”

“A classic summer look” for $34.35. The dress was $12, the shoes were $15, and glasses were $7.35.
Westover twirling around in a dress that she feels has a classic look to it but still stands out “It is also a statement piece so you don’t need a whole lot else with your outfit. You can just throw on the dress, and then I paired it with a pair of vans that I found at the store also”.

“The very bold statement” for $40.99. The shirt was $15 and the pants were $25.99.
“The shirt was definitely a statement piece. Things like that are great because like I said they kinda speak for themselves.”

“The perfect outfit for a beautiful spring day” for $36. The dress was $11 and the shoes were $25.
Westover feels that this outfit would be perfect for a pleasant spring day “It’s a nice brunch date kinda of look or like lets go to the farmers market”.
Westover thinks that this outfit is the most feminine of all the outfits she tried on.

“A great outfit for a night out” for $22.99. The romper was $14 and shoes were $8.99.
Westover really likes rompers because of their practicality and defined look “It’s definitely a little bit of a classier look for a little bit of a nicer type of event”.
