Hailing from Fort Collins, Colorado, this four-piece alternative rock band is bringing back the low-key alternative rock sound. On their new EP “Absence of Light and Sound,” each song starts off slow and soft and eventually builds to an intense guitar driven crescendo. This album was released last month on May 9. They had a CD release party at Hodi’s Half Note with Cobary Jam.  The album is reminiscent of ‘90s alternative rock, when alternative rock was soft and mysterious. The first song on the EP, “Escape Plan” sounds similar to Tickle Me Pink. The guitar riffs are similar to early pop punk bands with distorted guitars and gritty monotone vocals. The title track on the album is a faster paced song, with distorted vocals and heavy riff driven music it is a perfect rock song. It transitions from slower to fast paced within a chorus. It will take you on a rollercoaster ride of rock and roll. The last song finishes off the EP with soaring vocals and an amazing electric guitar riff. Overall, this EP is nostalgic of early alt. rock with gritty vocals and is just what local alternative fans have been waiting for.
