Thirteen downtown fashion boutiques will come together on September 15 to present the first “Fashion for Charity” event with this month’s proceeds from ticket sales going directly to the Cystinosis Research Foundation (CRF). One of the event founders, Traci Gendron, owns the men’s store, Storm, located on West Mountain Avenue, and her son battles this rare and complicated disease. This is the first event of this kind in Fort Collins and the downtown fashion stores would like to continue presenting shows in the future, each benefiting a different charity. Fall looks and accessories will be featured in an outdoor show in Old Town Square with music by DJ Avalon and VIP receptions to follow at the participating stores for ticket holders. Ticketholders will have reserved seating along the runway, takeaway gift bags, and special shopping discounts and previews the night of the event. Tickets are $30 and available at eventbrite.com with proceeds going directly to CRF/Natalie’s Wish, a registered 501c3 non-profit organization.
