Soda Jerk Presents and Cervantes’ Masterpiece have sealed a deal on a joint venture with Hodi’s Half Note in Fort Collins. The Denver-based powerhouses of the music industry in this region now have mutual ownership of the long-standing Old Town venue, effective immediately. Hodi’s, located at 167 N. College Avenue, and owned by Dan Mladenik, is the former home of The Starlight, which changed ownership in 2006. The venue has been a legendary club for decades and has hosted many notable acts, including Ween, John Mayer, and Social Distortion, to name just a few, in addition to legions of regional acts and touring bands. The new venture aligns Hodi’s with two of the most powerful promoters in Colorado and will fill the calendar with a diverse range of artists from all genres of music. Mike Barsch, owner of Soda Jerk Presents, states, “I am very excited about this new venture. I used to book shows at The Starlight back in the late 1990’s/early 2000’s and have done a few things there since it has been Hodi’s. I have always loved this venue and Fort Collins. I can’t wait to fi ll the calendar with amazing shows!” Soda Jerk Presents owns and operates Marquis Theater and Summit Music Hall in Denver and The Black Sheep in Colorado Springs. The company also runs Riot Fest, which just celebrated its fourth and most successful year in 2016. Cervantes’, owned by Scott Morrill, owns Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom and another venue next door to it called Cervantes’ Other Side. Cervantes plays a major role in several music festivals in Colorado including Sonic Bloom Festival, LoHi Music Festival, and Arise Music Festival. Cervantes’ also took over ownership of The Aggie Theatre in August 2015. Information: Zoe Lanterman firstname.lastname@example.org, 303.487.0111, extension 100.
