Have you ever walked around and caught a glimpse of the colorful painted pianos around Old Town?
Pianos About Town, an interactive public art program in Fort Collins, is seeking artists or artist teams to paint or decorate pianos for 2017.
The program is looking for diverse styles, and hopes to focus on emerging artists who are full of new and exciting ideas. Selected artists will receive an honorarium of $1,000.
To apply, applicants must submit a letter of intent and concept rendering. The application deadline is 5 p.m. MST on March 6.For those applicants, Pianos About Town is also offering two optional sessions aimed at providing resources for potential applicants.
The first session will be held Jan. 31 at 6 p.m. at The Music District, 639 S. College Ave. Potential applicants will hear a presentation about the application process while having an opportunity to ask questions.
The second session will take place Feb. 21, at 4 p.m. at Community Creative Center, 200 Matthews St. The session will consist of an open house and application review. Applicants can look forward to working one-on-one with staff members to review their applications and make application recommendations.
