If you have yet to see the enigmatic Latin Rock trio, iZCALLi, you’ll get your chance on June 23 when the band plays the Artery. Originally hailing from Mexico City and now Denver, brother-sister duo Miguel Avina and Brenda Avina, along with the skillful drummer Luiggy Ramirez and a sprinkling of uber-talented music superstars who tend to collaborate and play live shows with the band, iZCALLi is a unique experience. Doing songs in Spanish and English, the explosive and guitar-heavy delivery of this act is something that has earned iZCALLi spots in several festivals, opportunities to tour extensively, and also they were a member of SpokesBUZZ in Fort Collins prior to the organization disbanding last year. Miguel has a natural ease about him on stage along with a guitar style that flashes of Hendrix now and then and is always providing the core of iZCALLi’s intriguing sound. Raise a glass and get ready to dance as iZCALLi lights up the Artery stage on June 23. 8 pm.
