WELLINGTON MAIN STREET SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

Downtown Wellington is the place to be on Saturday, August 19 with a free concert by B-52s tribute act Hey, Lady!, winner of the 2012 Leftapalooza Mile High Tribute Band Competition. Founded in 2009 by sister/brother duo Deb Britton and Steven Blasinsky with the mission to spread the love, fun and wacky party spirit of the B-52s across Colorado and beyond, this is not your average background-music cover band. “Hey, Lady!” captivates audiences of all ages with their concert-style shows, outrageous wigs, costumes and contagious B-52s dance grooves.

“Hey, Lady!” has been raising audience eyebrows and heart rates. They have even caught the attention of the B-52s own Fred Schneider III who commented on his Twitter account: “Hey, check out ‘Hey, Lady!’ on YouTube. A B-52s cover band. They’re fantastic! Steve has me totally right! Love them & they’re great people!”

Kicking off the evening at 6:30 p.m. is The Coteries, a folk duo who is returning by popular demand after a very well-received show during last year’s concert series.

This is the third in a three-part series of concerts in the Tabby Road Animal Hospital’s Wellington Main Street Summer Concert Series which features a tribute act paired with an original Northern Colorado band each month.

Scene Magazine and the Colorado Sound are both media partners of the series.
