This Weekend in Fort Collins: 7/6 – 7/8

July is in full force, and although the firework shows have come to an end, the entertainment has not! In Fort Collins, there is always something to do on the weekend. Making its return to Old Town Square and headlining the slate of events is the Downtown Concert Series – a free live music event held every month. The First Friday Walk is also returning this weekend – a free interactive art walk on the first Friday of every month. Enjoy these two events and plenty more, all in your backyard.

Downtown Sessions Concert Series

When: Friday, July 6th

In this monthly concert series, the stage at Old Town Square is taken over by local Colorado musicians bursting onto the music scene. There is no price of admission and all ages are welcome. Performing this weekend are Johnny & The Mongrels and the Wendy Woo band. Drinks will be provided by Odell Brewing and High Country Beverage. Don’t miss out, or you’ll have to wait until August 3rd for the next show!

Semester at Sea Photography Showcase

When: Friday, July 6th

“Culture Through the Visual Lens.” See for yourself the captivating images taken by Colorado State University students as part of the Semester at Sea program in Spring of 2017. The event is being held at the Global Village Museum of Arts from 6 p.m. to 9. Admission is half-price as part of the First Friday Gallery walk! Learn more about the event here.

Funkwerks Summer Concert Series

When: Friday, July 6th

Another opportunity to catch live music. Every Friday this Summer, Funkwerks brewery is hosting live music on their patio from 6 p.m. to 8. This is much more low-key than the Downtown Concert Series. If you’re just trying to relax, have a beer with some friends, and vibe to some tunes, this is a great option.

Story Time at the Museum

When: Saturday, July 7th

Something fun and educational for the kids to do this weekend. From 11 to noon, youth ages 3-10 can enjoy FREE story time, as well as a scavenger hunt and snacks.
