ORGANIZATIONS TEAM UP TO ROCK THE VOTE!
It’s more important than ever to show up to the polls. VOTE!
Recently, local bandleader Dougie Anderson of The Bardots began polling his fellow musicians as to who would join him in performing at a free concert to encourage young adults to register to vote.
Anderson, North Forty News and The New SCENE Magazine teamed up to search for a venue and discovered The Downtown Artery was thinking along similar lines planning a free event for Election Day. Collaboratively, we created “Rock the Vote! / #I Voted!” along with other Election Day events going on nationwide.
With a stellar musical cast, this FREE concert of Northern Colorado musicians promises to be a great endnote to a most important day — Election Day, Tuesday, November 6.
Register to vote, vote on Election Day and then come celebrate your vote with us complements of our civic-minded musicians who are donating their time and talents along with our community sponsors.

Emma Marie is a 14-year old singer songwriter. She has performed recently at area festivals, including Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest, where she was the youngest to play on the adult stage. She is petite in stature, but the power of her voice conveys her passion for music. Emma Marie’s love of singing began as a toddler. Her songwriting journey began when she started guitar lessons. She quickly turned new chords into a melody for her first song at age nine. In the summer of 2014, she performed her first two original songs to win a singing competition called “Big Country’s Got Talent” at Cheyenne Frontier Days. Her musical journey was underway!

(described in The New SCENE Magazine as exuding “the vibe, the chemistry, and the raw energy of a fresh band” bringing life to the party with soulful vocals, powerful groove, and electric stage presence) Read the article
Members Riley Ann and Kayleen Patrick share a special connection born out of the Coalition of Women Song Writers– a group of over a hundred and fifty members founded and managed by Riley herself. Riley Ann had already proven herself an accomplished musician—touring the country from coast to coast as a one-woman band, before deciding the job would be more ‘liberating’ with more members to add to the creative flow. On her own steam, Riley was coveted as maintaining the old magic of folk, while exhibiting the new awareness of what it takes to be a successful woman songwriter and performer. While performing, Kayleen and Riley often face one another and their instruments while exchanging rifts in tandem. Their originally written songs hold true to their soul-blues roots and kept the crowd roaring without pause.

pioneers of “Experience Rock,” with a sound that moves the heart and mind while establishing “Unity Over Uniformity”
After releasing their at-home-produced EP Equine 1, Fat Stallion released their next single “Prospect” on January 1st, 2018. “Prospect,” (recorded at The Spot Studios) is an uplifting, hopeful anthem that is vocally encompassing of nearly every band member. Its positive message of being good to others and leading by example is very much indicative of the message Fat Stallion spreads both on and off the stage.
Fat Stallion takes a Beatles-esque approach to singing, so you will be able to hear different members in the spot light depending on which voice is best for the song. Each member carries a different vocal skill set and stylistic flair, making their music an exciting listening experience. Their combined love for orchestral, jazz, and vernacular music from around the world, as well as modern popular music, leads to a truly unique style of music that is constantly shifting and developing.
