This week in beer

Whether you’re looking for a super dank IPA, refreshing Belgian-style beer or a mouth-puckering sour, there are plenty of options to try in Northern Colorado. Here are some limited offerings currently available:

Berthoud Brewing

  • Dankfield IPA: Currently on tap at Berthoud Brewing and 5030 Local, this super limited one-batch beer is available for a limited time only. Brewed with Troubadour Malting’s Serenade malt, this light orange IPA lives up to its name with dank, raw hop character. Berthoud dry-hopped Dankfield with a heavy hand of Simcoe and Columbus hops that provide hints of berries, lemon and orange zest with a piney note that lingers through the finish. ABV: 6.0%

  • Refreshing and crisp, White is a Belgian-Style Wit pale in color and opaque with a creamy white head as a result of ample amounts of wheat used in the recipe. An addition of raw oats gives this brew a smooth mouthfeel while still providing a clean, dry finish. Brewed as the optimal thirst-quencher, white is delicately spiced with orange zest, coriander, and chamomile to build on the character of its Belgian yeast and weighs in at 4.8% ABV.

Brewed with Cascade, Centennial and Sorachi hops that provide a pronounced hoppiness, juicy citrus and a piney finish, American Pale Ale also features a biscuity malt backbone to balance out this 6.2 percent ABV beauty.
  • Blueberry Sour: Available today, Maxline is releasing Blueberry Sour from their rotating sour program. Blueberry and lime rind round with this tasty beer with a lactic bite.
