Stanley Hotel Announces Artist in Residence Recording Program Featuring Joe Robinson and Shannon LaBrie Concert June 20th.
The Historic Stanley Hotel launch their artist in residence program (AIR), in conjunction with The Nashville Music Masters and Moraine Music Group the week of June 17-21. Stanley AIR kicks-off with music artists Joe Robinson and Shannon LaBrie in week-long co-writing and recording sessions, concluding with an intimate, public, ticketed concert on June 20, 2019.
Singer-songwriter, Shannon LaBrie, will open the performance with a solo set followed by guitar guru Joe Robinson’s captivating one-man show. Shannon defies genre and brings to life insightful stories of a woman who remains true to herself in a life where uncertainty is certain. Robinson hails as one of the most uniquely gifted virtuoso guitarists. As a singer/songwriter he is a unique version of vocally based rock, blues, jazz, and R&B.
“We’re giving musicians their own space to create something unique at The Stanley,” said Stanley Vice President, Reed Rowley. “The Stanley Artist in Residence program is part Caribou Ranch and part room 217, making it truly original.”
The Stanley Hotel is well known as an inspiration for artists, the most famous example is Stephen King, who drew on the hotel as a muse for his best-selling novel The Shining. Stanley AIR builds on this tradition by providing artists with complimentary lodging and recording space over the course of an artist’s residency.
Leveraging the expertise resources of the Moraine Music Group and The Nashville Musical Masters, artists will also be provided with a “pop-up” recording studio featuring the latest state-of-the-art recording equipment provided by DPA Microphones and ADAM Audio.
“The Stanley has a history of inspiring writers which makes it perfect for an artist in residence program,” says Grammy award-winning producer/engineer Brent Maher of The Nashville Music Masters.
The Stanley AIR complements The Stanley’s growing notoriety as a concert and entertainment destination, including past performances and visits from artists like David Crosby, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Bob Dylan. This year The Stanley Hotel, in partnership with AEG Presents, will host dozens of national touring artists including upcoming summer performances by Lord Huron and The Blasters.
“Having lived and worked there for several years, I feel that Estes Park is the city that found me and gave me a foundation to build on.” Shannon Labrie says, “My deep affection for the people and mountains of Estes began while playing shows tucked away in the corner of Mary’s Lake Lodge and I know they will only continue to grow as an artist in residence at the Stanley Hotel. It feels like coming home.”
Shannon LaBrie is a Lincoln, NE transplant who has spent the past decade in Nashville crafting poignant ballads that don’t shy away from some darker moments in her life. It’s her ability to connect with listeners on a deeply personal level that contributes to her continual growth as a prominent artist in Music City. Her last album, 2016’s War & Peace, received critical praise from Rolling Stone Country and CMT for its bold critiques of American politics and reliance on social media. Rolling Stone says, “Her songs unfold with style and subtlety…via LaBrie’s gorgeous voice.” Instagram, Facebook, Twitter,iTunes, youtube
