What do you enjoy about being part of the Colorado music scene, and how do you see yourself and your music playing a role in that scene?
The best aspect of Colorado’s musical environment and culture is the fact that it is ever-changing, growing and relevant. It truly brings people together. As it evolves, I see more genres coming together to be part of the growing Colorado music scene. I see myself as a small yet big part of what is happening.
Can you describe how the Mariachi tradition influences your music, as well as what makes you unique within that tradition?
One way the Mariachi tradition influences me is in the way I can express songs with passion. One way that makes me different is that I sing Mariachi without a group, and many of the songs I sing are songs that speak into my soul.
What can festivalgoers look forward to at your performance?
Festivalgoers can look forward to hearing new songs, familiar songs, bilingual songs, songs in Mariachi style, as well as acoustic.
