This fall Colorado State University will host another exciting season of “Stadium Sessions,” a series of free, live outdoor performances by top Colorado bands before every home football game.

CSU elevated the home-game experience last year with the addition of live music, to celebrate the inaugural season of its on-campus football stadium. On Friday nights before Saturday home games, between 4 and 6 p.m., a Colorado band will perform at the New Belgium Porch at CSU’s Canvas Stadium. And two acts will take the stage before kickoff on game day: a youth performer from Little Kids Rock and a regional favorite. Performances will be held in the new tailgating area north of the stadium, which opens four hours before kickoff at the intersection of Meridian Avenue and Hughes Way.

The Stadium Sessions series informally kicks off before the season at the Aug. 4 Community Open House, which will be held at the stadium from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features Mama Lenny & the Remedy as well as Porlolo.

The first Football Friday performance will feature Lois and the Lantern on Aug. 24, followed by Emma Marie and Guerrilla Fanfare on Saturday, Aug. 25, before CSU’s game against Hawaii.

While the lineup is still being finalized and is subject to change, other acts already booked include Whippoorwill, A.J. Fullerton, Gasoline Lollipops, The Patti Fiasco, 12 Cents for Marvin, Taylor Shae, Danielle Ate the Sandwich, The Burroughs, Grace Kuch and Julia Kirkwood. Booking and event coordination were a joint effort among CSU, The Music District and the Bohemian Foundation’s live music booking team.

The Friday performance on Oct. 12 will be held on the Oval due to Homecoming, and there will be a two-band performance in the Ram Walk area on Friday, Oct. 26, before the Rams play the Wyoming Cowboys.

All performances are free and open to the public. A complete schedule of bands and start times will be posted at stadiumsessions.colostate.edu.
