Fort Collins celebrates mother Earth all month

PHOTO COMPLIMENTS FORT COLLINS MUSEUM OF DISCOVERY.

Love your mother – mother Earth, that is. Every year we celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd and
this year the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery (FCMoD) invites you to explore Earth all month!

Experience Earth from Space, FCMoD’s temporary exhibition in the Woodward Special Exhibition
Gallery, on view now until June 3rd. Developed by the Smithsonian Institution, Earth from Space
illustrates how satellite imagery is gathered and used to expand mankind's understanding of life on
Earth. Since the advent of the aerospace age, we have gained new insights into how our planet works.
Dozens of orbiting satellites produce images that reveal structures and patterns on the surface of Earth.
Come explore Earth from Space now, included with general admission.

Also join us on April 19 th for Discovery After Dark: Exploring the Earth… through images, data,
and history to discover how scientists, scholars, and even historians are using digital data about our
planet to visualize, analyze and interpret our world. Enjoy presentations in the OtterBox Digital Dome
Theater at FCMoD from Dr. Dave Theobald, Senior Research Scientist, Conservation Science Partners
and Dr. Robert Gudmestad, Professor and Chair, History Department, Colorado State University using
our state-of- the-art immersive visualization system. This event is co-hosted by Geospatial Centroid at
Colorado State University. Tickets available at http://fcmod.org.
