Turtle Mountain Fermentery opened in March
In March, the first Kombucha Tap Room opened in Fort Collins. Turtle Mountain is joining the local beer scene with a healthy, alcohol free beverage to enjoy by the flight, pint or growler fill.
“We are incredibly happy to be able to offer our customers a place to sit down, enjoy a kombucha, and socialize. We hope to feel as ‘homey’ as a favorite bar, but without the alcohol,” said Natalie DiSanto, Founder.
Kombucha is a healthful beverage created by fermenting sweet tea. The refreshing final product is very low in sugar and low in calories. It is a tangy, carbonated beverage which appeals to all ages. Due to it’s probiotic content, kombucha is known to have beneficial effects on gut health and digestion.
Though this drink has been around for hundreds of years, it’s popularity has recently exploded in the United States.
Owners Natalie and Hannah DiSanto began this business at local farmers markets 4 years ago. As demand grew they began looking for a permanent location to offer their delicious products. Turtle Mountain Kombucha and sauerkraut will continue to be found at all Northern Colorado Farmers Markets as well as nearly forty local businesses.
Current kombucha offerings: Yerba Mate, Hawaiian Infusion, Lavender Grape, Rosemary, Ginger, Cucumber, and SageBerry Turtle Mountain Fermentery also produces live probiotic fermented veggies. Customers will have the opportunity to taste the sauerkrauts and kimchi in the tap room. Current offerings: Garlic & Onion Sauerkraut, Apple & Caraway Sauerkraut and Colorado Kimchi.
“We’re thankful our product can be enjoyed by people of all ages. We have had a range from one year old to probably seventy in to enjoy our kombucha since opening,” said
