The title of this month’s issue is “Colorado Born.” Moving forward, the New SCENE has started a monthly series where Colorado born musicians and bands will be our focus. Expect to find one-on-one interviews and in-depth features, along with very high quality photos. We will be pairing our website with the series of articles to provide a rich entertainment experience with samples of music, videos and much more.

Our community stretches beyond Northern Colorado. While our focus will always be on events in Northern Colorado, the New SCENE will be covering venues and happenings throughout our great state. I am a Colorado native and the New SCENE is Colorado based, so it just made sense to label it Colorado Born.

Also, this month we are continuing our NOCO Top 5 monthly series. We asked our readers to vote for their choices on the top 5 Mexican Food restaurants (in recognition of Cinco De Mayo), and then we profiled the top choices. The response was awesome and we are delighted to continue with this program. Votes for next month’s topic are being taken on our website now at

When I took over ownership in January, I committed to keeping the New SCENE a leader in our region for Entertainment and Lifestyle News.  Not only have I made a significant personal investment to do so, our writers have invested significant amount of time into keeping our content high quality and current. All of this comes at a significant price to me personally.

I am passionate about supporting Northern Colorado journalism in general, and that’s why I have chosen to bring the New SCENE into a new age. I know a huge percentage of our readers are too. That’s why I ask our supporters to enter into the New SCENE’s new subscriber program.

Sure, you can pick our magazine up free at more than 500 locations throughout Northern Colorado. I have also invested in significantly improving our distribution. But the reality is, we need our community’s support to grow and improve our publication. That’s why I have designed a $39 annual program where the New SCENE will be mailed directly to your mailing address once per month. It’s a matter of convenience. No more searching for an available copy. Our magazines are flying off the shelves, and it is hard for us to print enough copies. But this ensures our supporters will always have a copy!

Also, soon, subscribers will start receiving our New SCENE Digest, which will send you an email with our latest content, once per week. This is an opt out service, but it is another way we have committed to provide and share great local entertainment journalism for our community. Advertising in this service is very limited and it is intended to provide a useful service to our subscribers, nothing more.

Subscribing is simple. Just go online to or tear off the subscriber form with this article and mail it back to us with your check.

THANK YOU to our current advertisers and subscribers for helping us keep the New SCENE rolling. We are growing and we are excited to continue into our 2nd quarter of 2018!
