Once again combining East and West, the Fort Collins Symphony presents “Legends and Lore,” featuring Native-American guest flutist R. Carlos Nakai. The evening will begin with Richard Strauss’ roguish romp “Don Juan,” then continue to Chinese composer Zhou Long’s “The Rhyme of Taigu,” Hungarian composer Franz Liszt’s epic tone poem “Mazeppa,” and will conclude with American James DeMars’ “Two World Concerto,” originally performed with Nakai himself, and Piazzolla’s “Libertango.”
